GBAGI BAGS DELTA PUBLISHERS AWARD

A renown Businessman and frontline gubernatorial aspirant for the 2023 governorship elections in Delta State, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi has bagged the Delta Grassroots Media Award of excellence in recognition of his contributions to the vulnerable people in the society during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown in the State.

The award which was presented to him by the Delta State Publishers under the aegis of Delta Guild of Indigenous Newspaper Publishers was received on his behalf by his son, Chief Emuobor Gbagi, a Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta Sate on Youth Development at the Gbagi’s residence in Warri recently.

Shortly before the presentation of the award, the president of the Guild, Mr. Femi Odonmeta, Stated that the prestigious award is part of the Guild’s oversight functions of recognizing Individuals and Group that are contributing immensely to the growth and development of the State and welfare of the people.

He particularly noted that Olorogun Gbagi’s display of love for the people was overwhelming by way of distribution of palliatives, which includes cash, food stuffs and Covid-19 prevention materials, that cut across the nooks and crannies of the State irrespective of the beneficiaries ethnicity, religious belief and party affiliations.

In his response, Chief Emuobor Gbagi Conveyed the heartfelt appreciation of his father to members of the Guild, stressing that his father would have loved to personally come to receive the well-deserved award, but for the interstate lockdown that is currently hindering movements across the country.

He emphasized that the award would spur his father to do more for the society and humanity in general.
