The much awaited Coronation of Prince Tsola Emiko as the 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom is now scheduled  for Saturday August 21, 2021 at Ode - Itsekiri (Big Warri).


This was officially announced by the acting Chairman of the Olu's Advisory Council, Chief Johnson Atserunleghe, the Iyatsere of Warri Kingdom in a Press Conference which took place  today Thursday May 27, 2021 at the Olu's Palace, Warri.


Meanwhile, the traditional burial rites of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri has also been announced by the Iyatsere of Warri who was flanked by other notable Palace Chiefs to kick start on Friday June 18, 2021 to Friday July 2, 2021.

The Regent of Warri Kingdom, Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, the Iyatsere of Warri Kingdom and the Ginuwa I ruling House at the Olu’s Palace (Aghofen) today Tuesday May 25, 2021 has put to rest the lingering crises between Mr. Charles Omadeli Led Executive and that of Comr. Monday Agbeyi Led Executive.



The case which was decided in favour of Mr. Charles Omadeli’s Led OML 150 Communities consultative forum said that Conoil Producing Limited should with immediate effect maintain status squo with Mr. Charles Omadeli Led Executive forum in the OML 150 Oil block.



In a chat with Warri Voice Newspaper immediately after the decision was reached, Mr. Charles Omadeli expressed his heart felt gratitude to the Regent, Iyatsere and the Ginuwa 1 ruling house for taking the right decision at the right time and promised not to let them down. Also speaking, the secretary of the forum, Mr. Fidelis Ete Orugboh said that the decision so far reached is the right step in the right direction for the overall benefit of host communities and Itsekiris at large.

Southern Governors 12 Points Declaration: Sustain the Momentum, we are solidly behind you -  Niger Delta Youth Leaders 



Following the meeting held by  South-South Governors in Delta State capital, Asaba recently, to profer solutions to the insecurity delimma all over the nation, leading to a 12 points agenda endorsed by the Governors, the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Council (NDENYC) have urged the 18 governors of the Southern States, to sustain the momentum generated at the Asaba meeting, now christened, "Asaba Declaration", endorsing the 12 - point resolutions reached at the end of the gathering of the governors which according to them broke the barrier of political party affiliations.

 

 
In a statement issued by the Niger Delta Youth Leaders recently, after a meeting held in Warri, Delta State,  blamed what they described as  the lackadaisical approach of Niger Delta political leaders in the past as it affects contending National issues for, " the embodiment of Northern political leaders, to have taken us for a ride all this while".

 

The statement which was signed by the President of the body, Mr. Terry Obieh and Captain Bassey Henshaw, Secretary, stressed that the entire Niger Delta Youths are solidly behind the 12 - point resolutions of the Southern Governors,  stating that their position was sequel to extensive review of the outcome of the Asaba meeting, and averred that the necessary framework has already been set up by them to ensure full activation of the processes that would lead to the full implementation of the Asaba Accord.

 

Recall that key elements of the 12 - point Asaba Accord, include the ban on open grazing, demand for restructuring of the country, the need to address perceived lopsided appointments by the federal government and checking the incursions of terrorists from the Northern part of the country to the South.



The Youth Leaders were drawn from Urhobo Youth Council, Anioma Youth Council, Itsekiri National Youths Council, Isoko National Youth Association, Etsako Youth Assembly, Esan Youth Association, Bini Youth Coalition, Igbanke Youth Assembly, Edo Coalition Youth Association, Ijaw Youth Council, Ikwere Youth Assembly, Ndoni Youth Leaders’ Coalition, Ogoni Supreme Youth Assembly, Ikot Youth Assembly, Ikom Youth Association, Eket Youth Assembly, Oro Youth Association, Egedi Youth Movement, Oron Youth Association, Efiawad Youth Group, Efut Youth Assembly, Ibibio Youth Movement, Efik Youth Assembly, Owan Youth Coalition, Ekid Youth Assembly, Igede Youth Coalition, Annang Youth Assembly, Qua/Ejachim Youth Coalition, Bahuohno Youth Assembly, Boki Youth Movement, Bekwara Youth Assembly, Yala Youth Movement and Affiwad-Ekid Youth Movement.

Warri South Council Boss pays Condolence Visit to the Regent of Warri Kingdom

Following the official announcement of the demise of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri, the  Executive Chairman of Warri South Council, Hon. Dr. Michael Ejueyitsi Tidi and his vibrant team has formally paid a condolence visit to the Regent of Warri Kingdom, Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, the Ginuwa 1 Ruling House and the entire Itsekiri nation today May 21, 2021 at the Olu's Palace, Warri.

Warri South Council Legislative Arm, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi during the Condolence visit.


Speaking at the brief ceremony,  Warri South Council Boss, Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi expressed his  condolence to the Regent(Olori-Ebi), the Ginuwa 1 Ruling house and the Itsekiri Nation for the painful demise of the First Class Monarch, saying that the Warri South Council deeply join them in this mourning period. 


The Warri South Council Chairman who was accompanied by his Vice, Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Divine Iniovosa, Warri South Secretary and Councilors said that he is consoled with the choice of the Olu Designate, Omoba Tsola Emiko by the Itsekiri people.

Warri Voice gathered that all appointees of the Governor have been mandated to handover all government documents in their possession to the parament Secretary with immediate effect.

Following the recent Bill on the  establishment of a Federal Institute of Fisheries Research sponsored by Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, member representing the Warri Federal Constituency, the National Association of Itsekiri Graduates (NAIG), has commended the eloquent law-maker for sponsoring Bill which according to the group will boost economic growth in the Itsekiri Nation as well as the entire Niger Delta region.


The Apex Itsekiri Graduates Alumni Body stated that the Bill which has passed first reading on  the floor of the Federal House of Representatives will open doors for good fishing business and methodology that will in turn improve the economic development and livelyhood of the constituency.

Speaking to Warri Voice Newspaper, the National President of the renowned Association, Comr.Ben Eyitemi Eburajolo said that due to the aquatic life and dwelling of the people of his constituents,  sponsoring such a bill which will be established in Ogidigben community in Warri South West L. G.A will help improve on research of the different species of fishes which will enhance fishing business and serve as another source of revenue for the Nation. 


Comr. Eburajolo who expressed delight, appreciated Chief Ereyitomi for sponsoring the bill at this critical time where oil exploration has completely destroyed the fishing activities of the affected communities, stressing  that the proposed site for the institution has a huge advantage in Warri Federal Constituency since it is close to the Atlantic Ocean.  


He further called on  NASS to expedite action in  passing  the Bill as the institution will serve as a hub for teaching and learning in the area of fishing methodology for exportation and importation as the water is a natural aquatic channel for advance research in all kinds of fishes in the river.
