Chief Abovi Hope Erute, the Oviemo of Uvwie kingdom has recently been sworn-in as the President General of Uvwie kingdom in a lavished ceremony held at the famous Uvwie Hall in Udu  Local Government Area of Delta State.


Chief Erute who stated that his emergence as the President General of Uvwie was through a keenly contested democratic election averred that, his main focus is to foster peace and tranquility amongst his people by bringing all aggrieved parties together and make them live as one united family.


In a chat with Warri Voice Newspaper at his office Secretariat in Effurun, the President General of Uvwie stated categorically that, in his three years in office, he will ensure that his people are not sidelined economically, politically or otherwise, saying that his people will surely get every benefits and entitlements accrued to them.


He further stated that, other areas of his focus will be the provision of empowerment schemes for the youths and a cooperative society scheme for the women, saying that this year's Uvwie Day Celebration slated for December 26, 2021 will be a remarkable one as preparations are on top gear towards the celebration and the full manifesto of his administration will also be unvailed.


When asked on his strategies to curb the continued unrest in Uvwie, the President said that he is presently collaborating with security operatives to ensure normalcy returnes back to Uvwie as well as sensitize the youths to be able to track down the bad ones among them, stating that, most crimes in the area are committed by youths from outside Uvwie. 


The President General of Uvwie, Chief Abovi Erute also used the opportunity to congratulate the entire Warri kingdom on the forthcoming Coronation Ceremony of the 21st Olu of Warri, saying that the Itsekiris and Urhobos have enjoyed a peaceful relationship and very remarkably, during the reign of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the 20th Olu of Warri Kingdom.


He further advised the people of Uvwie and Deltans at large not to relent on the safety precautions of Coronavirus which until recently has resurface as Delta Variant and has been diagnosed to be more deadly than Covid-19.
