Akpabio is the best man for the job – North/South Coalition


Youths in the country on Monday pronounced the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio as ‘’ the right man for the presidential job in 2023’’.

They also praised President Muhammadu Buhari for giving Akpabio the opportunity to tackle the Niger Delta problem.

‘’Senator Godswill Akpabio is a man of courage and faith. He is doing his job with zest and energy’’

At the launching of a grassroots movement for Nigerians aimed at making Akpabio the country's next president, the youths commended Akpabio for tackling thorny issues, putting an end to wild extravagance in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), stimulating Buhari’s imagination to new visions of things to be done in the region and handling the Niger Delta problems with general skill and efficiency.

The youths spoke with deep sincerity on the minister’s approach, skill at persuasion and ethos.

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, spokesman of the South-North 2023 Presidential Coalition in a statement in Sokoto described Akpabio’s performance as wonderful.

‘’Senator Godswill Akpabio achieved transformational change in Akwa Ibom State. He is giving hope and inspiration to the Niger Delta people’’

The youths applauded Akpabio for promoting the welfare of the Niger Delta people, building bridges and attracting investment.

The statement emphasized Akpabio’s initiatives for inclusion, exceptional creativity, liveliness, vision and appetite for long hours of hard work.

The youths praised Buhari for his positive contribution to Nigeria’s recovery, restoration of the country’s pride, repairing of Nigeria’s reputation on the world stage and transferring the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs

Specifically, the youths urged Akpabio to think of playing a more expansive role by running for President in 2023.

The statement also emphasized Akpabio’s unceasing effort to develop the Niger Delta region, intellectual ability, dedication to public service and rapid departure from past strategies.

Matrix Energy Organizes Free Eye Medical Outreach for Host Communities 

As part of her Social Corporate  Responsibility, Matrix Energy Group Limited has given back to its host communities by organizing a six day free eye medical outreach in collaboration with Ogiame Ikenwoli hospital.

The free eye medical outreach which kicked-off Monday January 17, 2022 will elapsed on Saturday January 22, 2022 at Ogiame Ikenwoli hospital in Ubeji, Warri targeting over 2000 persons in Ubeji, Egbokodo, Ifie, Aja-Etan and Ijala- Ikeren communities.

Addressing newsmen at the opening ceremony, Group Head, Safety and Environment of Matrix Energy Group Limited, Mr. Frederick Olomuro said that, the free Medicare, which includes consultation, distribution of free glasses, free refractor tests and free drugs have been provided for by the Indigenous Oil and Gas Company and where necessary, patients with serious eye defects that requires surgery will be looked into.

Mr. Olomuro, who was overwhelmed with the turn out of people at  the first day of the outreach, averred that Matrix Energy have enjoyed a friendly and peaceful relationship with its host communities hence, the company is very skeptical not to fall short in its Corporate Social Responsibilities to its host communities.

While appealing to people of the host communities to remain calm, Mr. Olomuro, stressed that logistics for people of the host communities to attend venue of the 6-day medical outreach and return home, has been provided by the company.  
 
Consultant Optometric, in-charge of Eye Clinic, Ogiame Ikenwoli Hospital, Ubeji, Dr. Tosan Amorighoye, appreciated  Matrix Energy Group Limited and Ogiame Ikenwoli hospital for a wonderful partnership, just as she advised residents of the host communities to take advantage of the free eye medical outreach in order to have a good eyesight which has posed to be challenging due to the continuous pollution of the environment caused by gas flaring.

Trust Chairman of Ubeji Community, Ambassador Godwin Mone who spoke on behalf of the host communities, thanked Matrix Energy Group Limited for always supporting them stating that the free eye medical outreach is first of its kind, even as he admonished other companies in Ubeji to emulate Matrix Energy Group Limited.
 
Some beneficiaries, expressed delight for the programme and commended the management of Matrix Energy, assuring the company of sustained peaceful business environment.

One of the patients, six years old Alex Victor said “I am here because of my eyes, I cannot see the board clearly. If they can make me see the board, i will tell them thank you”.
