ITSEKIRI EDUCATION TRUST PRESENT CHEQUES TO SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES  



 

Itsekiri Education Trust, a foremost Organisation known for its educational impact in Warri Kingdom has again presented Cheques to Itsekiri undergraduate scholarship awardees for the year 2022.

 


The presentation which was done under the supervision of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III and his noble Chiefs took place on Friday May 20, 2022 at the Olu’s Palace(Aghofen), Warri.

Addressing the scholarship awardees, the Olu of Warri congratulated the awardees for scaling through the scholarship process to be part of the presentation, even as he charged them to be more focus in their studies, given the fact that the educational system in Nigeria is dwindling and Itsekiri as a nation must present the best in all fronts going forward.

 


The Monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse III further commended the efforts of the Trust for their support towards education in Iwere land.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of Itsekiri Education Trust, Engr. Gbesimi Akperi (FNSE), thanked the Olu of Warri for his support towards the Trust’s objectives, saying that “We shall continue to come to you for support believing that every success is ultimately for your credit and glory of God”.

 

Engr. Akperi who stated that the major challenge of the Trust is funding said that some of the activities of the Trust covers education at all levels, adults literacy Programme, university scholarship and skills training, even as he encouraged Itsekiris to invest more in education.

 

“We want to point out to our people that our survival depends on good quality education. Itsekiri must be ready to fund education, so that in due season, we shall reap the fruits of our investment just like Singaporeans did”, he opined.

 

Addressing the awardees, Engr. Akperi said “I call on you to be disciples of the Itsekiri cause, be patriotic and devote your time to the service of our people and strive for excellence at all times”.

 

Climax of the ceremony was the presentation of cheques to the overwhelming awardees which was done by Engr. Alex Neyin, Chairman of the Trust scholarship Committee.
