P4P Central Working Committee visits Delta for Oversight Functions 

The Central Working Committee of P4P, a brainchild of PIND Foundation has visited the Delta State Chapter of P4P in line with its oversight functions in all the Niger Delta States, so as to ascertain the level of projects been done by each chapters as well as their challenges and possible solutions.

In the course of the meeting, held on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at the P4P Delta State head office, Okuokoko, near Warri, the Delta State Chapter Coordinator, Jennifer Okotie, briefed the CWC representative on the activities of P4P, its achievements and inherent challenges in recent times, adding that on-going projects include curbing drug abuse among youths and mitigating sexual violence in the society.

 

Responding, the CWC representative, Pastor Egedegbe Edewor appreciated members of P4P Delta State Chapter for their swift response to the clarion call despite the short notice, adding that his visit is not to witch-hunt anyone, but to put everyone on their best capacity in order to achieve great success.

 

 “the whole idea of this visit is to have on the spot assessment of what P4P is doing in all the nine states in the Niger Delta and after much deliberations and cross checking, it is very clear that our state is doing very strongly, though, there are challenges, but that’s not to say that they are not surmountable. We have also discussed with stakeholders on the best way to dealing with these challenges”, he averred.

 


Pastor Edewor who is also the  National Secretary, P4P-CWC, admonished the Delta State Coordinator and other Stakeholders to look beyond the funding from PIND and take advantage of global trends, innovations and hosts of opportunities to be able to attract more funding to sustain the increasing programmes and projects of the P4P network, just as he urged for more communication amongst the two tactical component of the P4P network. 

 

Warri Voice Newspaper can state authoritatively that the meeting was a huge success as all aspects of the Delta State Chapter of P4P’s activities were thoroughly discussed and new ideas on subsequent projects implementation was shared.
