N52M RELIEF MONEY ABOUT TO TEAR OMADINO COMMUNITY APART
The N52M relief money paid by Chevron to oil rich Omadino Community is about to tear the community apart, following report received by Warri Voice Newspaper.
Briefing Warri Voice Newpaper recently at Omadino town hall, Priest Roland Yomere, the Ashaka of Omadino confirmed that Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) paid N52M to the Community for relief materials following a spillage at the Uton-Nanna flow station.
He further disclosed that twenty percent of the money has been given to those indegenes who facilitated the payment of the money according to Omadino constitution.
In a large gathering of the community Elders and Executives, it was agreed that N30M of the money should be used to rehabilitate the Community town hall.
On the contrary, Mr. Emma Lagos and his group are of the opinion that the N30M slated for the renovation of the hall is on the high side and that part of the money should be set aside for taking care of Omadino Community case pending at the Supreme Court.
All efforts to reach the Community Trust Chairman, Mr. Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren for his own side of the story proved abortive as at Press time.
